Bre Hyder is entering her third year as the outreach athletic trainer contracted through Ochsner to supply sports medicine services at Liberty Magnet High School. She is the first athletic trainer to provide services at Liberty and has plans to develop a student athletic trainer program within the next few years. 

Bre is a graduate of the University of Iowa (B.S. in Athletic Training) and of the University of Texas at Tyler (M.S. in Kinesiology). While attending UT Tyler, Bre was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Tyler Junior College. After graduating with her master’s degree, Bre was offered a full-time position with Ochsner as an outreach athletic trainer for the East Baton Rouge school system.

  • National Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC-Certified)

  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in Louisiana (LSBME)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

  • Lower body Active Release Technique (ART)

  • Myofascial Cupping Certification

  • Sports Neurology and Concussion Certification 

Professional accomplishments:

  • Co-author in published research (2018)

  • Assistant researcher in published research (2016)

  • Head ATC for four national tournament appearances (TJC women’s soccer 2016, TJC softball 2017, TJC volleyball 2017, and TJC baseball 2018)

  • Head ATC for two national runner-up titles (TJC women’s soccer 2016 and TJC baseball 2018)

  • Head ATC for two women’s basketball state titles (2019 and 2020 with formerly Lee Magnet)
