Health and Safety Concerns
With the threat of the corona-virus to the United States, the school district has come up with solutions to keep our students safe and healthy.
The district is working closely with the Mayor's office and the Mayor's Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness to monitor the situation. Currently, there are no cases in our region and we hope to keep it that way. As we currently know, the corona-virus is not airborne and is contracted through touching another sick person. In order to maintain our safety in the district and at Liberty Magnet, it is recommended that students stay away from those that are sick, cover their mouth when they sneeze or cough, avoid touching the eyes, nose or mouth, wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, clean and disinfect surfaces frequently and stay at home if you are sick unless you are going to see a doctor.
We also are installing hand-washing and sanitation areas near our current hand wash stations to help mitigate the dangers of spreading germs and bacteria. We hope you find this information useful in keeping yourself and your student out of harm's way.
